Honour mode run, no reloads, finished it. That's the lens I'm reviewing through and it's a different game from that angle.
The combat is better than people give it credit for because most people never have to engage with it properly. On a normal run you can brute force almost everything. Take away the reload and it becomes an action economy problem, and suddenly every scroll, every elevation advantage, every shove matters. There's a genuinely deep tactical game hiding under a difficulty curve most players never touch.
What stops it being an S for me is that the encounter design doesn't always meet the systems halfway. A lot of fights are solved by the same three opening moves. The bosses that break that pattern are the best in the game and there aren't enough of them.
Surfaces are still fiddly. Everything catches fire. You get used to it.
